Advocacy

Advocacy for Challenging cases and for the marginalised stories of clients and their survival is one of Eden's expertise. Challenging cases are defined by complex loss, and a systemic failure of societal systems to support people in grief.

Certainly, when systems actively work against the survival of clients and their life story to offer only disabling empathy, Advocacy becomes imperative.(Please refer to the upcoming book for the wonderful survival stories experienced by clients of the practice).

We are pleased to be involved with advocacy work for clients of Eden Therapy Services, in regard to their experience as victims of crime, victims of inst

itutionalised violence and historic sexual abuse issues.  Eden Therapy Services has over 30 years of experience in supporting clients with such cases, and our advocacy work is unique.

The practice has produced a Masters research document and doctoral studies in victim management and childhood sexual abuse. As a result of this work we have seen advocacy as an important part of people’s healing.

Currently we have several clients supported with their National Redress Scheme applications.
