Dr Rebecca Braid PhD, MSW, GradDipC&FT, BSW
Dr Rebecca Braid has practiced therapy for 40 years, with 30 of those years in private practice. Prior to entering private practice she worked as a social worker in the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in the Neonatology Unit, the Sexual Assault Unit and Oncology Department.
She was manager of Social Work at one of the largest NGOs in New South Wales, and Centre Manager for allied health in a large charitable organisation. In addition, Rebecca has cared for terminal patients and their families at Neringah Hospital.
Rebecca’s initial degree is in Social Work. She has a Graduate Diploma in Couple and Family Therapy and a Masters degree in Social Work. Following her ground-breaking work exploring the link between Spirituality and Therapy Rebecca was awarded her PhD from La Trobe University.
Rebecca offers a range of services at Eden to individuals, couples and families as well as victims of crime. She has extensive experience with clients who have experienced trauma and abuse. She runs her own group program for trauma survivors and which has taught over 250 clients in this setting.
She also offers professional Clinical Supervision on a one on one basis, or for groups, face to face or via zoom.
Rebecca is a member of the Australian Association of Social Workers, and is an Accredited Clinical Social Worker, which reflects her advance standing in the industry. She is also a member of the Australian Counselling Association, The AASW and the ACA College of Supervisors. She works as an Approved Specialist Counsellor Tier 2 with Victims Services and has done so for over 25 years, being the 18th accredited counsellor in the state of NSW. Rebecca is also Medicare accredited, and can provide counselling for clients under Bupa, Medibank, and the Police Health Fund, and has clearance to work with children via a Working with Children Check.
